On this page I want to show you who I am:
Well, where shall I start ? OK, I was born (!) on September 22, 1961 in Linz, Austria.
happy

sad

well fed
My parents are Anni and Konrad Pilz, ... ... and I have got a sister, her name is Jutta.

I went to primary school (Keferfeldschule and Montageschule Wegscheid) and secondary school (3. Bundesgymnasium) in Linz, where I took my bachelors degree in 1980. After working for one year in social service (at the Austrian Railways' workshop for locomotives; in Austria you can choose to do this social service instead of joining the army) I studied English and Physical Education at University (Pedagogic Academy) - I became a teacher !

After having finished my studies I went to the Republic of Ireland to teach German at St. Mary's College in Naas, Co. Kildare, Éire (Is aon Gaelige agat ?).
Then I worked at an Austrian secondary school in Linz ( Dr.-Karl-Renner-Schule) teaching English and Sports (and many other subjects) for six years.
At the end of the Eighties I set out for Nicaragua where I worked as a development worker for nearly eight years. It was there I got to know my lovely wife Orlinda.
We lived in different places in Nicaragua: First I worked for three years in an educational project in Waslala, then we went for two year to Rosita, and the last three years we spent in Bilwi (Puerto Cabezas), capital of the Autonomous North Atlantic Region RAAN. You can find more information about our work and our projects on our homepage NICARAGUA.
During our time in Nicaragua we also formed our family. Maryuri was born in 1989, followed by Tania in 1992 and Laura in 1996. They are lovely girls, aren't they ?

In April of 1999 we returned to Austria (where I worked at the Hauptschule 10 Zeppelinschule), only to come back to Central America (Guatemala City, Guatemala) in December 2000. Since then I have been teaching English at the AUSTRO-GUATEMALAN INSTITUE

These are my favourite hobbies:

Since I was young I have been an active collector of stamps.

I also love scuba diving.
I like to listen to good music.

And I also read a lot.

Sometimes I like to have a couple of beers, and I love to dance.

I play Volleyball.

I fight for the right (well, left) cause ...

... and I try to help the poor.

But what I love most of all is my family:
