SCHOOL CONTACT PROJECT 2003 - CLASS 6 A
with St. Mary's College, Naas, Co. Kildare, Ireland

We are the 6A class and we’re doing this project because we want to introduce ourselves to the students in Ireland. We hope that the students in Ireland answer our letters or send us a similar project. We want to have friends and contacts from other countries. It would be nice to meet them. We can also practice other languages.
We study at the Austrian School in Guatemala. There are about 1000 students in our school. Our school year begins in January. We have summer holidays in June. Also two months at the end of the year, in November and December. In our school we speak Spanish, German and English.
Guatemala is a very small country. It is located in Central America. Our official language is Spanish. There are also 23 Mayan languages.
In our class there are 20 students. We have two swimming pools, three football and Volleyball fields and a gym. The gym is very big and beautiful. There’s a laboratory, a kitchen and a biology lab. We have three computer rooms and a library with many books.  The school is also very big, there are boys and girls. In my class there are eight boys and twelve girls. We start at 7:20 in the morning and finish at 1:00 o’clock. Our school uniform is a white shirt, grey trousers / skirt and black shoes.

Somos la sección 6º A y estamos haciendo este proyecto para presentarnos a l@s estudiantes de Irlanda. Esperamos que l@s estudiantes de Irlanda respondan nuestras cartas o nos envíen un proyecto similar. Nosotr@s queremos tener amig@s y contactos de otros países. Nos gustaría conocerl@s. También podríamos practicar otros idiomas.
Nosotros estudiamos en el colegio Austriaco en Guatemala. En el colegio hay aproximadamente 1000 estudiantes. Nuestro ciclo escolar comienza en enero. Tenemos vacaciones de verano, sólo que estas son en junio,  pero también tenemos dos meses al final de ciclo escolar, en noviembre y diciembre. En nuestro colegio aprendemos español, inglés y alemán.
Guatemala es un país muy pequeño, y esta situado en Centro América. Nuestro idioma oficial es el español. También se habla 23 lenguas indígenas. 
En nuestra sección hay 20 estudiantes. Tenemos dos piscinas, tres campos de fútbol y de Voleibol así como un gimnasio. El gimnasio es grande y bonito. Tenemos un laboratorio, una cocina y un laboratorio de biología. También hay tres salas de computación y una biblioteca con muchos libros. El colegio es bastante grande, y hay niñas y niños. En mi sección hay ocho varones y doce mujeres. Comenzamos las clases a las 7:20 de la mañana y terminamos a la una de la tarde. Nuestro uniforme es camisa blanca, pantalón o falda gris y zapatos negros.
